Nina Simone, "Here Comes The Sun", there it is, happiness creeping in, rays of hope starting to emerge. I hope the feelings this song bring to me are beginning to seap in to the hearts of all who are suffering as a result of the Victorian fires.

Healing warmth, the sun on my face, not scorching sun, not heat that reminds us of fire and burning, but gentle caresses of the dawn or perhaps a pretty sunset. A moment of freedom from stress, to observe that the world is still a beautiful place. To think it is possible to one day (hopefully soon) feel safe again. To feel loved and supported.

My love is moving through the song, I push it with my spirit to reach the ones who need it most.

I hope you will soon have cause to know, the sun also rises.

Yay, A Music Player!

I finally got a free music player for the blog that plays more than samples, plays the whole song. So happy about that and have started loading already. As you can see I am in a somewhat alternative mood, I love my quirky music that puts me in a bursting mood - bursting with something, I don't know what. Energy? Excitement? Happiness? Wierdness? All of the above?

This is one side of my personality, the softer, girlier side can be heard on Easy Giving 101 I just had the sweetest time last night loading that one up.

Now if only this player had copies of Eskimo Joe's Planet Earth and Older Than You, they are my crush songs, I get manic when I hear them, so delightful I can't express! Hmm music, you had me at hello.

Adam Sandler Knows What I Mean

I have a raging cold, my nose and ears are on fire, and all that I have going through my head is Adam Sandler's song from The Wedding Singer "put a bullet in my head, I want to die, Oh kill me, kill me, I want to die". Too black? It was a comedy. I know what he means, he knows what I mean, we are in a dark corridor of resounding laughter, and moaning.

The Java Jive

"I love coffee, I love tea, I love the Java Jive and it loves me, coffee and tea and the java and me, a cup, a cup, a cup, a cup!" I have this old coffee house song stuck in my head and it makes me so happy I am giddy. Who can be depressed with this running through their head? I thought of it for the first time in years and looked it up on bigpond music, there it was Manhattan Transfer, The Java Jive, $1.48. Bargain. I am happy like a child.

The Songs on My Mind

Its been a while since I have kept up my music journal, so now I have to think back over all the songs that have been in my mind this summer.

When I was battling fluffy hair I was thinking a lot about "Super Freak" for some reason. I tried so many hair products that the song switched over to "Just Can't Get Enough", each day I tried different frizz ease, or taming applications....

Then I was missing my ex and I had lots of depressing songs in my head, but it was good depression if you know what I mean. It was that deliciously sweet pain we sometimes deliberately inflict on ourselves by listening to the same song again and again, or looking at old photos.... It seems to be a girl thing.

Of course Blink 182 'I Miss You' came out of the cd rack, and the song I was crushing on when I met mr ex Eskimo Joe's 'Planet Earth', of course that used to be my happy song!

I have also been crying along to Death Cab For Cutie's 'I Will Follow You Into The Dark', and Fischer 'I Will Love You'.

Now I have cheered up considerably but have had a lot of trouble with urinary hesitancy so I am looking for songs to sing in the toilet, especially water songs! I have to go to see the doctor this afternoon as I can't go on like this.
